Holiness in our midst – Session 21

Holiness in our Midst

SESSION XXI: ON ENTERING HEAVEN

I’ve heard a variety of answers to the question “What will your first words be upon entering Heaven?” Amy Kuehl, a psychologist and fellow member of First Christian Church in Ames, IA, said she would simply say “Thank you.” Some sought answers to their burning scientific questions: (“Is there life on other planets?”) or resolution to their personal relationship issues. Others wanted to clear up burning questions from the Bible: “Did Noah really build an ark?” or “Did Jesus actually walk on water?” or “What about the virgin birth?”

My first words upon entering Heaven would be addressed to Jesus. I would ask: “Do you think we can pick up where we left off? It’s been such a busy time, what with my funeral and all…” I think of my life as a continuous dialogue with Jesus: I pray my prayers to Him; He gives the answers back in the circumstances of my daily rounds.
