Ivester Church of the Brethren is located off Hwy 175, one mile south on E Ave. It is about 9 miles east of Eldora, or 2 miles west of the HWY 175 / HWY 14 corner, and 1 mile south on E Ave in Grundy County.

The Ivester Church of the Brethren congregation was formed in 1867, meeting in homes and haysheds until 1876, when the first church was built. Several outposts were also organized. The gathering in Grundy Center used German language.  Country schools, including one in Felix Township and one near the town of Union, were utilized for church services. By the fall of 1911 the congregation had outgrown the church building. Talk began about a new church building.  Fundraising was started, and building commenced in March. The goal was to be ready for District Conference in the fall. Volunteer labor, working with a contractor and crew chief, completed the church on goal. The present Ivester Church building was dedicated at the District Conference gathering at Ivester on September 29, 1912.
