District Executive on Sabbatical

Starts: Monday, April 21st 2014 at 12:00 am
Ends: Monday, July 21st 2014 at 12:00 am

I will be on sabbatical April 21-July 21, 2014. During that three month period, pastors and church leaders are asked to contact their Cluster Ministers with needs or concerns. The Cluster Ministers and churches they help are: Lucinda Douglas and Ida Van Westen (Worthington, Sheldon, Big Sky, and Living Peace); Roger Peckover and Rhonda Pittman Gingrich (Lewiston, Root River, Open Circle, Common Spirit, and Hands of Christ); Brian Gumm and Joy Hershey (South Waterloo, Hammond Avenue, Greene, Ivester, Iowa River, Fredericksburg, Cedar Rapids, Robins, Toledo); Barbara Wise Lewczak or Dave Kerkove (Ankeny, Stover, Beaver, Dallas Center, Panther Creek, Panora, Peace, and Salem); Tim Peter or Diane Mason (Fairview, Prairie City, Ottumwa, English River, Libertyville, and Monroe County).

Additionally, Lois Grove has agreed to serve as District Coordinator for the time period. She works with the Cluster Ministers, and neighboring District Executives Kevin Kessler (Illinois), Carolyn Schrock (Missouri) and Sonja Griffith (Kansas) are available to help as needed.

I am so grateful to the District for granting me this time of rest and renewal and for your generosity in continuing my salary and benefits during this time, plus the extra support I have received from the District and many of you to help pay for special sabbatical activities.

I take this leave with confidence knowing things are in good hands with the capable pastors and leaders in our churches, with our ten Cluster Ministers and other district staff and volunteers, with Lois Grove as District Coordinator, with my DE colleagues available as needed, and above all with God’s faithfulness and support. I ask your prayers for me that this three months will be a time of deep spiritual growth and renewal. And know that I will be holding you, my dear sisters and brothers, in my prayers.

-Tim Button-Harrison, District Executive
